3 TRICKS TO CLEANING THE OVEN

The daily preparation of meals very quickly leads to a soiled oven. If you are tired of struggling with burnt, greasy stains and food scraps, and find oven cleaning hard work, we have three simple tricks that will make it an effortless endeavour. Leaving you with a spotless and shinny oven!

Trick 1 (for persistent stains): Use baking soda

Baking soda is your best friend when it comes to cleaning the oven. Here’s how to use it:

  1. Preparation: Turn off the oven after use and wait for it to cool.
  2. Make a paste: Add a few tablespoons of baking soda and a little water to make the paste.
  3. Apply the paste: Evenly apply the baking soda paste to the inside of the oven, especially on stains and burnt debris.
  4. Let it sit: Leave the paste to sit for at least an hour, or overnight for hard stains.
  5. Wipe: Use a damp cloth or sponge to wipe the paste and food residues. Rinse well and dry the oven.

The disadvantage of cleaning the oven in this way is that it takes some time, but the occasional use of baking sode is the best option for persistent, greasy stains.

Trick 2 (for a mildly soiled oven): Use vinegar and lemon

  1. Preparation: Turn off the oven after use and wait for it to cool.
  2. Make the liquid mixture: Mix an equal portion of vinegar and water in a sprayer. Add a few drops of lemon juice for a refreshing scent.
  3. Spray: Spray the vinegar and lemon mixture on the inside of the oven, especially on stains and grease.
  4. Leave to sit: Leave the mixture on for about 30 minutes.
  5. Wipe: Use a cloth or sponge to wipe the inside of the oven. Repeat the procedure for stubborn stains.

Periodically cleaning your oven in this way will prevent deep stains from becoming ingrained, for an easier clean, and will keep your kitchen smelling fresh more often!

Trick 3 (regular cleaning): For the self-cleaning oven

If you are lucky enough to own a Tesla self-cleaning oven, you will clean it easily and quickly:

  1. Pour two glasses of water into the pan and turn the oven on for half an hour at 70 degrees. And that’s about it!

Now that you know these tricks, cleaning the oven will hopefully be a breeze. Just remember, regular maintenance makes cleaning easier, and will help you keep it shiny and functional for longer.
